As part of one of Australia’s largest urban renewal programs, Brisbane’s Royal National Associations (RNA) Large Animal Pavilion replaced some old, dilapidated buildings spread across the site.

With over one million visitors to the showground site every year, for exhibitions, music festivals and sporting matches, the new development brings the site to life with a range of new retail, commercial, multi-residential, new multi-purpose convention, exhibition and car-parking facilities.

With a requirement for airflow and visibility through the carpark and staircase, large voids were left at each staircase landing. To ensure visitor safety, a primary concern for both the RNA and developers, Prowler Proof ForceField security screens were chosen for the multi-storey development’s staircase design, as a fall prevention solution.

ForceField’s durable .8mm, 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh is perfect for the application, providing a barrier from falling, while still allowing visibility, with a 156 degree viewing angle, and airflow with an open area of 42.5% through the screens.
