Diamond Design Security
All Prowler Proof Diamond designs have been through the same gruelling security tests – and passed them with ease. The Australian Standards test (AS 5039) takes a test sample through a series of 6 separate tests. All tests have to be passed in succession by the same test sample to get the stamp of approval. The test series starts with a 40 kg sand bag being smashed into the screen at 100 joules – check out the results below…

Dynamic impact test
The Test
The dynamic impact test is designed to simulate an intruder trying to kick through a security screen. The test is performed with a bag full of lead shot and sand, weighing more than 40 kg. The bag is smashed into the screen with a force of either 100 (SL100) or 200 (SL200) joules. The test is repeated 5 times.
The Result
Passed. Diamond passed at Security Level 100 (SL100). In fact, the test posed little challenge for Protec perforated aluminium security screen doors and windows.
Your Benefit
Kicking your way through a Prowler Proof Diamond design security screen is all but impossible. It handles the Australian Standards test for dynamic impact with ease – the test sample still looks brand new after the test.

Pull test
The Test
Imagine an intruder trying to pull out your security screen…that’s what the pull test is all about. The security door or window must be able to withstand pulling forces of up to 2 kN (200 kg) for 20 seconds at various positions from various angles.
The Result
Passed. It’s virtually impossible to separate the mesh from the welded frame of a Prowler Proof Diamond design security screen. 200 kg is a substantial force – still the screen looks unaffected upon completion of the test.
Your Benefit
A potential intruder will need to pull substantially more than 200 kg at various positions for an extended period of time to have any hope of getting past a Prowler Proof Diamond design security screen. Good luck with that.

Knife shear test
The Test
The knife shear test simulates a knife attack on your security screen. A heavy duty trimming knife is dragged along a 250 mm line with a force of 150 N (15 kg) vertically and up to 350 N (35 kg) horizontally. The test is repeated 3 times – each time with a new blade – along the same line.
The Result
Passed. This test can’t be performed on a Prowler Proof Diamond security screen, due to the presence of the grille, the blades would be unable to move. The test is designed for stainless steel mesh or perforated aluminium security screens.
Your Benefit
An intruder would need to arm themselves with more than a knife or a heavy duty trimming knife with 3 fresh blades to shear their way past a Prowler Proof Diamond security screen.

Jemmy test
The Test
The jemmy test is designed to simulate an intruder using a lever to get past the security door or window. The test is performed with a large screwdriver at all locking, hinging and fixing points. The force applied is up to 450 N (45 kg) for 20 seconds – way beyond the capability of most intruders.
The Result
Passed. All Diamond security products passed the test easily – each and every locking and hinging point was secure after the test.
Your Benefit
It takes much more than a large screwdriver to get past a Prowler Proof Diamond design security screen. Even with substantial force applied, the locking and fixing points just won’t give way.

Probe test
The Test
The probe test simulates an intruder having created a gap and trying to get his hand inside to unlock a door or a window. A deflecting force of 1.5 kN (150 kg) is applied to each opposite side of the opening to increase the space enough to get a hand through.
The Result
Passed. The test simply can’t be performed on any Prowler Proof Diamond design. The openings in the mesh are far smaller than the test requirement of a 213 mm diameter probe.
Your Benefit
A Prowler Proof Diamond design security screen door or window significantly restricts a would be intruder from gaining access to inside your home. Creating a safer place – at your place.

Corrosion test
The Test
The Neutral Salt Spray Test requires the product to survive a 240hrs neutral salt spray test. This test is an accelerated corrosion process that takes place in an enclosed chamber. The spray is saltier than sea water and the temperature is maintained at +35º C with almost 100% humidity.
The Result
Passed. Even when the Neutral Salt Spray Test went well beyond the minimum 240 hours required – lasting 1,000 hours in total – there was still no visible corrosion on the Prowler Proof product.
Your Benefit
Prowler Proof security screens are among the most corrosion-resistant on the market. With proper care, they will remain looking as good as new for years to come.

Diamond Designs Corrosion
There are two reasons why Prowler Proof Diamond design is the most corrosion-resistant security screen on the market. The fact that it’s welded instead of being held together by screws or rivets means that there are no untreated or raw edges to increase the risk of corrosion.

Acetic acid salt spray test (AS 2331.3.2)
The Test
The 1,000 hour acetic acid salt spray test is pure torture. Acetic acid salt spray is not only saltier than sea water, it’s also 10,000 times more acidic. The test takes place in an enclosed chamber at a temperature of +35ºC with almost 100% humidity.
The Result
Passed. Prowler Proof is the only brand on the Australian market to pass the acetic acid salt spray test.
Your Benefit
If you live in a coastal area or near industrial areas, corrosion is your security screen’s worst enemy. Prowler Proof is your safe choice. No other brand of security screen has passed the 1,000 hour acetic acid salt spray test. No other brand is covered by a 10 year replacement warranty.

Neutral salt spray test (AS 2331.3.1)
The Test
All Prowler Proof products have been tested to the Australian Standard 2331 which requires the product to survive a 1,000 hour neutral salt spray test. This test is an accelerated corrosion process that takes place in an enclosed chamber. The spray is saltier than sea water and the temperature is maintained at +35º C with almost 100% humidity.
The Result
Passed. Even though the test went beyond 1,000 hours – 1,069 hours to be exact – there was no visible corrosion on the Prowler Proof product.
Your Benefit
Thanks to the way they are built, Prowler Proof security screens are the most corrosion-resistant on the market. Even with very little maintenance they will remain corrosion-free. Cleaning every six months – every three months in coastal or industrial regions – is all it takes. Security screens that are held together by screws or rivets can require cleaning as often as every 2-4 weeks in coastal regions.

Diamond Designs Insect Protection
All Prowler Proof Diamond design security screens come with a high quality fibreglass insect screen. But you can take it even further. Aluminium or stainless steel insect screens offer extra strength as well as protection from bushfire.
Diamond Designs Access Control
Prowler Proof Diamond designs allows unassisted access for pets or people, through the addition of optional access control accessories, such as keying locks alike, pet doors for family pets and solid panels for easier wheelchair accessibility.
Diamond Designs Fall Prevention
Prowler Proof Diamond designs meet the requirements of The National Construction Code (NCC) which requires that screens can resist an outward horizontal action of 250 N.
