NSSA Meeting Photo for Lobbying Support

February 28, 2023

In Queensland, companies who install security screening products are required to hold a Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) licence. The challenge our industry faces is the lack of a specific and easily achievable licence class with members having to hold metal fabrication (welding and boiler making) or glazing qualifications. This creates an incredibly high barrier for the industry – often resulting in members who cannot meet compliance requirements. As such, the current licensing framework does not adequately reflect the specialised knowledge and skills required to work in this field.

The NSSA, and supporting Industry Partners, believe that the creation of a new license class would not only recognise the importance of our industry, but also ensure that consumers have access to qualified professionals who can provide high-quality services.

The NSSA is currently lobbying the Queensland Government with a Case for Change to accept this proposal. The support of Industry Partners will be used towards NSSA’s lobbying efforts.

Prowler Proof have added our support to this lobbying campaign. We will continue to update you with the NSSA’s progress.
