Meshtec

Prowler Proof ForceField, Protec and Guardian mesh is only ever sourced from Meshtec. We never substitute with lower quality mesh.

Who is Meshtec?

Meshtec is the global leader in the provision of high tensile stainless steel security screens used for residential and commercial applications. Meshtec exclusively uses high tensile stainless steel wire to weave and manufacture screen mesh, creating a product that is resistant to corrosion. Meshtec is quality endorsed to ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO17025 and OHSAS18001 standards to ensure they deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Achieving manufacturing standards that are internationally unsurpassed, each stainless steel strand is individually tested to stringent global standards in their in-house quality control laboratory.

ForceField mesh

All ForceField products use genuine Meshtec 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh. The mesh is woven to a high-tensile strength, with each strand of wire individually tested to stringent international standards. The stainless steel mesh passes the tough Australian Standards 5041 Knife Shear test, to prove its superior strength. Meshtec's mesh is powder coated with a patented special formula designed by Meshtec to ensure corrosion resistance and exceed standards for salt spray testing.

Does the wire thickness matter?

The strength of the wire is not defined by its thickness, but by the strand's tensile strength, which is measured in mega pascals (Mpa). Our 0.8mm, 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh, has an Mpa of 860-940Mpa. 304 stainless steel mesh has an Mpa around 800Mpa, making it a softer wire, which is why it needs to be thicker, to pass the Australian Standards 5041 Knife Shear test.

Corrosion resistance

Prowler Proof ForceField also uses Meshtec 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh, because of its superior corrosion resistance performance. ForceField mesh has passed a 1,000 acetic acid salt spray test (AS2331.3.2) and a 10,000 hour neutral salt spray test (AS 2331.3.1). See ForceField's testing results.

Protec mesh

All Protec products use genuine Meshtec perforated aluminium mesh. The mesh is thermally treated for increased strength and performance. Made from a solid 1.7mm aluminium sheet with 2.0mm holes, providing an open area of 40% and view angle of 135 degrees.

Does the aperture matter?

Some perforated aluminium sheets have an aperture of 2.4mm, which means they cannot be used in bushfire areas. To be suitable for use in bushfire locations, the aperture must be no greater than 2.0mm.

Corrosion resistance

Prowler Proof Protec has passed a 1,000 acetic acid salt spray test (AS2331.3.2) and a 10,000 hour neutral salt spray test (AS 2331.3.1). See Protec's testing results.

Guardian mesh

All Guardian products use genuine Meshtec 0.6mm, 304 architectural grade stainless steel mesh. The mesh is woven to a high-tensile strength, with each strand of wire individually tested to stringent international standards. Just like ForceField, Guardian's mesh is powder coated by Meshtec with a patented special formula designed to ensure corrosion resistance and exceed standards for salt spray testing.

Corrosion resistance

Prowler Proof Guardian 304 stainless steel mesh, has passed a 3,000 hour neutral salt spray test (AS 2331.3.1). See Guardian's testing results.
