This new $11 million 33-bed facility is the largest private mental health facility in Queensland outside Brisbane. It has been specifically designed to meet the growing need for mental health services on the Sunshine Coast. ForceField® security screens provide a pleasant but impenetrable barrier on the balconies. They wrap the entire building on every balcony to ensure the safety, security and well-being of the patients.
Aluminium Balustrades (North Coast) (ABnc) was contracted by the builders to carry out the complete metalworks package on the Cooinda mental health facility. The aim was to design and install a strong structural barrier that maintained visibility and airflow to all balconies. Sales Manager Sam Bevis from ABnc explains:
