ForceField® security screens are an important part of Lahainaluna High School’s new 650-seat cafeteria. They provide security, ventilation and insect control – and allow uninterrupted views to the ocean and neighbouring islands.

Lahainaluna is not just another high school. Founded in 1831, it’s the oldest high school in Hawaii. By 1864 only Lahainaluna graduates were considered qualified to hold government positions such as lawyers, teachers, district magistrates and other important posts. Until 1877 students were taught in Hawaiian.

Today Lahainaluna High School serves over 1,000 students from Maui and surrounding islands. The new cafeteria seats 650 students for meals and 1,000 students for assembly. The cafeteria doubles as an emergency shelter for the West Maui area…there are few safer places than behind a ForceField® security screen.
